What can I say. I was an avid photographer in high school. This was probably because my father was an avid photographer. I was a photographer for my year book at my high school and my dad let me use his Nikon. This was in the late 70’s/early 80’s when SLRs ruled and way before digital photagraphy. But by the time I graduated high school I had fallen in love with computers. My parents and grandparents gave me my first computer a TRS-80 Model I. By the time I finished college I hardly ever touched a camera.
Fast forward to 2006. Believe it or not the reason I returned to photography was due to joining Weight Watchers. My wife and I joined Weight Watchers in March of 2006. For exercise we started walking. That became boring quickly. So we started taking walks in local parks. While on walks I started seeing wildlife that I wanted to photograph. I had a point and shoot HP digital camera but the pictures were very unsatisfactory and the LCD was impossible to see in the daylight. So in September 2006 I purchased a Nikon D80 Digital SLR.
Over the last two years, I have become addicted to photography again. I think in part it is because digital photography brings together my love of computers together with photography. I love to attend workshops. Nature photography is my favorite but I’ve tried my hand at glamor, portrait, still-life, landscape, and macro.
My wife recently gave me a Nikon D300 for Christmas and she has picked up my D80. With any luck she will become as addicted as I am.
I have joined a couple local camera clubs
I am also a big fan of Flickr. Click on the following to see my Flickr uploads.
